Midol's "Reverse the Curse" Ad

Hi Everyone,

I'm writing to post about the latest Midol ad. The ad starts with saying "There is a reason it's called the curse" and lists a myriad of symptoms and ends with the slogan "Reverse the Curse." I find this ad despicable, and it is being geared towards young girls teaching them to hate their bodies. I have e-mailed, written and called Bayer (the company that makes Midol), but the ad persists because not enough women are complaining. I talked to someone in the consumer care division, and she told me phone calls are best. They make the most impact. Nice that she told me this AFTER I spent an hour writing Bayer as well as the ad agency lol. Their number is 1-800-331-4536. I thought we could set aside a specific day and bombard them with calls. How about we make this upcoming Monday the day to mutilate the Midol ad?

Anyone planning on calling and complaining about the Midol ad? I have a group of about 20 who plan to call this Monday, May 4th. But this certainly will not be enough to stop the ad. If the ad stays on, it teaches the next generation to put down their periods. So I hope we can get more women to call and voice their opinions to Bayer. Thanks.

Hi Marian,

No I definetely do not mind. I'm not sure if the call in worked on May 4th, but I know that Midol ads are notoriously offensive, so any feedback they get will help with future commercials as well. I also have the phone number to the ad agency somewhere. When I find that number I will post that too. When I called I also let them know that I won't be buying any Bayer products until they can produce a commercial that is respectful! Thanks so much for responding!
