Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?

Where do I start?...Empowering women through matriarchal spirituality is probably at the top of my list; domestic abuse and overcoming the trauma and sterotyping of this condition; promoting education for young women in order that they will be responsible self-sufficient and independent citizens; and making sure that womens' health issues and benefits are available to *all* women, including those in lower financial brackets.

What kind of social activism do you engage in?

For almost 25 years I was a stay-at-home home schooling mother of seven. Today, I'm still home schooling 4 of my children, and my activism takes the shape of internet sounding board and Facebook Feminist. Inbetween times-- I write.

What organizations do you love or work with?

I'm involved with my coven, Coven of Bristolwicks, a private group of 13 women. I'd love to say that I ride a white horse through the gray world and make a tremendous difference, but I'm simply one little woman struggling through menopause and life transitions who's become accutely aware of women's issues and the irony of it all.

What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?

There is a video out by Z Budpaest called, "Gathering the Goddesses", which is one of the most empowering films for women that I've ever seen. I highly recommend it. Here's a link to the Youtube introduction. I'm sure you'll find more info there on ordering this DVD, if not, contact me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTaTGsh7Cvc

"The Burning Times" is a six-Part documentary that you will find at the following link. The witch hunts of medieval times were not just an assault on witches, those women who continued to follow the 'Old Ways'--- it was an assault on all womanhood, pushed forward by the influence of the Roman Church and their fear of women and women's power.: http://ladyamythyst.webs.com/paganrights.htm

Career: what do you do or want to do?

Author/Psychic/Spiritual Feminist

What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!

What can I offer you?...This took some thought, because I'm really just a regular middle-aged woman running a regular house, with a regular family, whose quietly writing her books. I think, realistically, I could give you my time, my writing skills, my nack for making far-reaching connections in the internet world, and my enthusiasm on the topic of women's issues, which builds the right kind of energy. And we all know that it takes a certain amount of 'magickal' energy to successfully succeed in our endeaovrs.

What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!

I’m mostly just a woman entering Cronedom who’s raised a large family; tried to write at various stages of life; explored the spiritual world from all levels and at opposite ends of the spectrum; and tried finding myself through a series of relationships, only to arrive at the conslusion that you find yourself best when alone-- though that's very seldom the way women get to lead their lives, and my life is a perfect example of this.

In the course of this lifetime, I’ve become a published author; an ordained clergy; a holistic healer through the world of reiki, crystal therapy, & chakra balancing; and a professional psychic. I’ve went from years of solitary practice as a witch alone to being the High Priestess of my own coven, discovering a wonderful group of Sisters along the way.

Life is a series of progressions, encompassed by changes at regular and irregular intervals, interspersed with periods of stagnation that may be viewed as calm by the optimist. I’m still searching for answers to life’s numerous questions. The one thing I do know for sure is that I’m not finished. I want to continue this journey with eyes open and all possibilities a reality waiting to happen.

What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?

I don't think that it was any one particular defining moment, but rather an evolution connected to personal experiences.

Merry Meet...
