Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
Women and children being mistreated, misunderstood and not having a voice.
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
I've never have, but I'm ready to be active, I'm tired of being dead!
What organizations do you love or work with?
I'm coming from a christian background which I left in the 90's.
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
The books that helped me, were, Tapping the Power Within by Inyanla Vanzant, Jambalaya by Luisah Teish, Running with the Wolves, etc...I've read many, many books on Moon Magic, Feminism, so forth, but I've never had a community of women where I could share and grow. I guess you can say I'm a loner, but when I'm out, I'm liked by many. Three of my favorite movies are Joy Luck Club, Little Women and Memoirs of a Geisha. Matter of fact I will be traveling to Japan this month and I will be able to meet some real Geishas.
Career: what do you do or want to do?
For over 20 years I was a Admn Asst. I graduated here in Atlanta from a Massage Therapy Program, but I'm not licensed.
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
I can help with admin work. I am a very great massage therapist, I've been told by Arabians and Russians that I've been the best they've ever encountered and that was when I was in school. I'm a great listener and student.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
I haven't worked since I moved to GA in 2007. This is the first time that I can really say that I am totally in the Care and Love of the Creator. So many beautiful things have happened, especially since I set up my Ancestral Altar, this time I will not turn away. I was able to empower the emplements in the Chattahoochee River and since then I've been in contact with Masters as yourselves that I have never knew existed, being I came from a Catholic backround. So, I'm just now really knowing who I am Mother Earth in my Blackness. I love all people, I'm not prejudice. I'm just fed up with the system, just like all of my Sisters in the World are.
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
I have 5 daugthers and three grandchildren with two more on the way next year in February. Once those two Souls are born I will have 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. So the Female Aspect wants greatly to be recognized in my part of the Garden.
