Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
Feminism, Environment/ecology, Peace, equal pay,
artistic visibility, animal rights, noise abatement, saving the cities from greedy realtors & developers , health & wellness
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
Peace, neighborhood issues, women's issues
What organizations do you love or work with?
so far I've been somewhat independent - except for FCW Society which is bringing me out of my cocoon
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
Joni Mitchell, Angelique Kidjo, Joan Osborne, Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Bessie Smith, Mahalia Jackson, Virginia Wolfe, Orlando, Million Dollar Baby, Louise Bourgeois, Frieda Kahlo, Rachel Maddow, I'll add more later
Career: what do you do or want to do?
Artist - inspire, delight, provoke, nourish, stimulate, awe, open eyes, soothe ears, wet appetites (and make a great living while doing it)
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
Visual artist - painting, drawing, photography & sculpture. Writer - poetry, stories, lyrics - some funny/some serious/some political/some personal.
Performer/musician/singer - jazzy/bluesy originals!
I can consult, critique, direct, teach art. Work with what you have. Great brainstormer and seer of possibilities. Spirited mastery of the moment - Have pencil/will write/draw/chew. Somewhat psychic - my antenna are fine tuned.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
Pay attention to nature - put your nose to the rose!
Have an art-related request? ask!
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
Grandma! The heart and soul woman who called me "her treasure" (in Italian) who spoke little English and remained illiterate because nobody thought to teach her. The unsung, underpraised, salt of the earth unfortunately taken for granted.
