Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
Women respecting themselves and their bodies.
Education for all parents-to-be on effective parenting.
Safety and a loving home for all children.
Free food, shelter and health care for everyone.
Free counseling for everyone.
Honesty and accountability in government and business.
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
I walk my talk.
What organizations do you love or work with?
Used to belong to (now defunct) LSWAG - London Status of Women Action Group. (London, Ontario)
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
...What a long list this could end up being! I will have to add to it as inspiration occurs:

Z Budapest's books. Susun Weed's books.
Fav feel-good movie: Cutthroat Island, with Geena Davis.
Career: what do you do or want to do?
I am a stay-at-home mom. I want to be a published writer, or use my creativity in some other way that makes me happy and pays well. =)
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
For now, some friendship.
Later on, perhaps more.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
I have 2 beautiful children that make it all worthwhile.
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
I was sitting in a park under a tree reading my book when I overheard a father and son throwing a football near-by. The man told his boy not to throw like a girl. A few minutes later the ball came towards me so I got up to throw it back to them. I have a pretty good throw, and the dad, catching it square in his chest, oofed a little and looked at me in surprise. I said, "Sorry, I throw like a girl." I heard his son snicker as I went back to my book. My heart was racing because I knew I'd scored a good one for the girls! =)
