Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
education, local foods, inner-empowerment for each to be the fullest version of themselves.
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
Educating our youth
What organizations do you love or work with?
Save Our Children, Lorain County Rape Crisis Center
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
"Run, Lola, Run"
Zap Mama
"Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" Tom Robbins
"The Power of Now" Eckhardt Tolle
Career: what do you do or want to do?
teach! math, reading, gardening and compassion. I would like to build a community in a classroom.
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
i would help folks interested in composting to get
a pile started, as well as share some excellent vegan/vegetarian recipes.

I would love to have a conversation about education, share what i know of alternative education models, (democratic schools, free schools, responsive classroom, non-violent communication in the classroom) and to hear your thoughts and perspectives.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
i wonder what would happen if everyone started putting cayenne pepper and compassion into their morning coffee.
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
"intro to gender and women's studies" opened up a pandora's box that I had been searching for the key to throughout my adolescent years. I realized that I was woman, i was strong, and i was empowered. i realized that many woman had been tricked into the illusion that they were not strong and empowered, by the workings of our world.
and so, the empowerment began.
