Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
All issues concerning the health and wellfare of our elderly
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
PERSONAL SPEAKER
What organizations do you love or work with?
Any that promote respect and support of the elderly
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
Elizabeth Kuebler Ross has probably been the most influential in my life. She broken ground basically giving women/people permission to venture into working with the dying which is most empowering.
Career: what do you do or want to do?
I would love to return the elderly to their position of respect and power in our society
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
What skills do you need? I can do public speaking; I have a master's degree in healthcare administration with a concentratoin on gerontology; I am a writer, singer (don't dance though). I love wholey and completely. I believe that human beings deserve respect and dignity no matter what their status (with a few exceptions).
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
The world is spinning out of control and men are lacking in love for their fellow man. I cry when I think of what humans do to each other. I don't believe the world can change but I do believe that I can change my world and you can change yours. If we all change and influence our immediate world then yes, the world will be changed.
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
The first time I had to put a toe tag on a deceased woman in the nursing home. There was no family, no friends that mourned her passing except the women that were caring for her as nursing assistants. Women really matter - we are the world's care givers.
