Hello Ladies,I haven't been on Red Tent for a while, and I apologize for my absence! I was recently involved in a vehicular accident and had to deal with all the drama and paperwork that comes along with being involved it. I must say though, that I am doing much better and it is only by the GRACE of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I owe my all to Him, it is He who provides me with the strength I need to face each day!I have recently started a very fulfilling venture at my local church- a…See More

Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
Gender equality, education, alleviating poverty and suffering faced by women, alleviating violence faced by women
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
Women's Group
What organizations do you love or work with?
Church organizations
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
Motivational and religious books empower women. When women become aware of who they are, they become empowered to be the person they were meant to be. Educational books are also important, in that they provide women with the secular knowledge to force change in the communities to which they belong, to stand up for themselves and their rights and to contribute to their country in terms of getting jobs, creating more productive economies and inspiring ideas that produce change.
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
I am a motivator. I believe that educated girls become empowered women and that all women should be empowered. As such, I always motivate the women I come in contact with, to always strive for excellence in everything that they do. Motivation serves to drive women's view of themselves, and once they see themselves in a positive light they are inspired to be the ones who follow their dreams and shoot for the stars.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
Women are important and they are the driving force of the families and communities to which they belong. Women should be honored and cherished, they should be given respect and looked up to rather than taken for granted as the usually are. Women are amazing and to be a woman is something you should be proud of everyday of your lives!
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
After witnessing the violence faced by women in my country and around the world, I reached a point where I felt that I could no longer sit down and do nothing about this rampant problem facing women...I had to become active, I knew I needed to do something or I would die. Women are amazing and should be celebrated, we are the ones who keep our families together, we are the ones who, against all odds fight the circumstances around us and come out successful, we know what needs to be done and how to get it done!!! We deserve the same respect given to our male counterparts, we do not deserve to be any less respected because we are women. WE ARE WOMEN AND WE ARE IMPORTANT!!!

The most basic resolution: Keep On Moving!!!

 Hi everyone,

We've ushered in 2012, some of us with champagne, some with church. Whichever 'falls in your garden', I'm sure you were elated to see another day, another year.

There may be many of us who have been through some painstakingly difficult times throughout the year past but for what it's worth, hopefully you'll realize this, a new year brings with it new and exciting possibilities.

There is a saying that 'an optimist…

Happy New Year

Hello Ladies,

I just would like to take the time out from my busy schedule and wish you all a very happy and successful New Year 2012. I would also like to encourage you all to keep believing in yourselves, be the best that you can be through all circumstances that come your way. That is because, you never know who's looking at you and who's going to be inspired by your strength, your courage, your humanity or your faith.

You are all wonderful ladies and I wish…
