Thank you for your reply. I'm not trying to risk another pregnancy, and my lover made it quite clear that we won't have another baby for a couple more years. I just can't stand having these chemicals in my body and how it affects me mentally and phy…

Hi Aileen, It is very natural for your blood to be different colors, especially at your young age and after a pregnancy. Your body is still growing and maturing. I urge you to reconsider and start using feminine forms of birth control, such as the p…

So, after weeks of debating with myself and my boyfriend, I've decided to come off the pill. Yes I won't have the freedom to not have to worry bout wearing a condom or if a condom breaks anymore, but it's a sacrifice I'm (trying to be) willing to ma…

A note and after thought... While I was looking over the Afri-Pads site (they are based out of Uganda and provide work and cloth pads for school girls) I was thinking also, what about girls in our own country(ies)? What about girls living on the st…

Hello Everyone, I'd like to bring something to everyone's attention. This is a topic that no one seems to be interested in or mentions: Providing reusable and safe menstrual products to women of third-world countries. I have seen things like the…

Profile Information

What issues are most important to you?
Re-connecting to femininity and healing our Mother, and re-viving the time when the Goddess was not a legend whispered on the wind or behind hands.
What kind of social activism do you engage in?
I'm just starting out in human-related activism.
What organizations do you love or work with?
I don't know any.
What books, music, films, etc. do you think educate and empower women?
The Red Tent (book)
Petals (photo book of female genitalia)
Other Nick Karrass' works (helping people be comfortable with their bodies and sexuality)
Career: what do you do or want to do?
I want to be a Midwife or Doula and to offer prenatal fitness and feminine education.
What skills and interests to do you have to offer to others in the Red Tent Women's Project communty? This is your chance, so sell yourself!
I'm not sure yet... Well, I write.
What would you like other members of this community to know? About yourself, about the world...anything (try not to be profane, though)!
I am 16 and I have had a son, but I had to offer his ashes back to the Earth almost a month after his birth into this world 2 months before the time he was meant to enter this world. I am a dancer, priestess and follower of the Goddess and an eclectic Earth-based religion. Feminine power is important to me and I fight for animals and their rights. I believe being at least vegetarian is the best thing you could do for your body next to not filling it with chemicals.
What was your "women really matter and I'm going to do something about it" moment?
When I realized how much the world shies against anything natural, traditional, etc. Such as midwifery, and the oppression of women in places like the church (the biggest thing that led me away from the church and to the Goddess), the work force, and in everyday culture.
