An eww moment, from an unexpected source

I thought long and hard about posting this.

I am a big believer in supporting other organizations and their missions, especially women's empowerment organizations, and I don't like to badmouth efforts and approaches. There have certainly been times when I've disagreed with methods and sometimes even the outcomes. And I'm sure there are people who've disagreed with the Red Tent's.

Anger Management

Each of us has an overriding emotion, according to experts. Ever asked yourself what yours might be?

Mine has always been anger, but it wasn't until I was diagnosed just under 2 years ago with bipolar (the version that they call cyclothymia, where you experience rapid and abrupt changes in brain nerve cell function, resulting in mood changes - same as Stephen Fry) that I got to work with a psychotherapist and unpack my anger. Five Crowned Women

On 21st December, 4 friends and I were 'croned' - crowned as elders of The Red Tent - at our monthly meeting. It was a very special time for us all. The ceremony itself was very simple, personalized to fit who we are and the time of year (tissue paper crowns, and red candles, and mulled wine to drink). The Wave - climate demo, 5 Dec 09, London

My relationship with my moon time changed dramatically one day a few years ago. I was one of those people who came to expect terrible cramps as an inevitable part of the first day of my period, sometimes two days. So what awaits the world of women?

The video below was taken on Menstrual Monday 2008, in the Sebastopol Downtown Plaza. Menstrual Monday has been celebrated around the world for the past few years, on the Monday before Mother's Day (since you menstruate BEFORE you become a mother, and long after...)
