Hi everyone,
We've ushered in 2012, some of us with champagne, some with church. Whichever 'falls in your garden', I'm sure you were elated to see another day, another year.
There may be many of us who have been through some painstakingly difficult times throughout the year past but for what it's worth, hopefully you'll realize this, a new year brings with it new and exciting possibilities.
There is a saying that 'an optimist stays up until midnight to see a new year arrive; a pessimist waits to see that the old year leaves'. To which category do you belong?
Regardless of any adverse circumstances, no matter how long you've endured it, know that good is possible and faith is the master key. We are the ones who have the ability to change the lives that we have, by not allowing our circumstances to define who we are. We are more than the situations that we face. We are more than our physical appearances, we are more than the clothes that we wear or the jobs that we have. We are more than what people say or think about us!!! Look inside your heart and learn to accept and love that inner person. If you believe that there is any aspect of your life that needs to be changed, change it...the power is in your hands.
Keep moving on! Keep climbing and fighting and pushing past ever hurdle that threatens to block your way. Learn from past mistakes, look forward always, look to the future. Your possibilities are endless and the sky's the limit if you just give yourself a chance.
I want to share a song with you, by an artist who has been through it all, it seems. Mary J. Blige has publicly talked about her struggles with drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse and fighting the shame of not being able to read even when she had already become a household name among other things.
I hope this song gives you some measure of strength as you keep on moving in 2012!
